SAFETY MESSAGING MESSAGE ALERTS ACTIVATED BY ANY PARAMETER The 3208 includes all the features you have come to expect from Eurotherm controllers (advanced PID control, Ramp/Dwell Timer, simple to use software & menus etc), PLUS 15 scrolling configurable alarm, warning and/or information messages which can be activated by any parameter. UNIVERSAL METER FAST VISUAL PROCESS INDICATION The 3208 display includes a 7 segment universal meter, for simple visual indication of process status. The meter can be used to display all standard parameters, such as heat, cool or total power output, process input, signal error, CT Load amps or setpoint. The meter can also be switched off if required. The meter is also useful for semi-skilled operators or for use in applications where operator process knowledge is limited.

Safety Messaging tell operators what is really happening, improving safety and process feedback. The operator is alerted to alarm priority & exact cause. The message can even carry instructions on how to respond.  Thus not wasting time waiting for a maintenance officer to advise that the problem is non-critical, saving time and increasing productivity!

RAMP / DWELL TIMER
Included as standard is a multimode ramp/dwell programmer for basic setpoint batching control and more specialised timing functions. Digital outputs are also provided for program running and end of timer.

SETPOINT PROGRAMMER / PROFILING
The 3208 Programmer version is a controller which also contains a four segment setpoint programmer where each segment consists of a controlled rate ramp to a target setpoint followed by a dwell at that setpoint. This provides a low cost solution for applications where basic setpoint profilling is required. The end of program can be set to dwell, control to setpoint 2 or turn off. Reset, Run and End digital outputs can also be softwared to relay outputs for alarming and other control requirments.

ZONE CONTROL MASTER / BASIC CASCADE CONTROL
The master communications feature allows the 3208 to become a master setpoint programmer, sending its setpoint to slave devices for zone control applications. Up to 32 slaves can be attached. The same system allows the 3208 to be used as a basic low cost CASCADE controller for applications where long process times produce poor control in basic control applications. 

HOT RUNNER CONTROLLER
HOT RUNNER Controllers are used on injection moulding machines to stop the plastic freezing as it runs into long narrow channels in the mould. These channels are kept warm by embedding cartridge heaters into the mould. The cartridges are hydroscopic (absorb water) and need to be slowly dried out to overcome earth leakage, shorted turns and overheating. The hot runner (soft start) controller delivers a reduced power output until a set temperature or time is reached.  The controller then reverts to normal PID control. Phase angle thyristors are often used to control the heaters.  The 3208 DC provides a very economical solution.
